Budget 2025

The City of Coquitlam provides infrastructure and services that impact your day-to-day life, for example drinking water, garbage collection, road construction and maintenance, parks and green spaces, public safety and many more. Every year how much we spend in each of these areas is set out through the budget process. How we allocate funding impacts the City's service levels.

Coquitlam has a history of sound financial planning, which has helped to make the City resilient in challenging economic times. As Coquitlam prepares the City's 2025 budget, City Council and staff will continue to focus on measures that mitigate the impacts of current economic conditions, such as inflationary pressures, higher construction costs and downloaded responsibilities from other levels of government. We understand that rising costs are affecting residents and local businesses. We also recognize the importance of maintaining service levels and City assets to ensure we can continue to support a high quality of life in Coquitlam now and into the future.

How Feedback will be Used

The City is in the process of developing its 2025 five-year financial plan. Community input is one of several factors that inform the budget process. The insight gained from public input will be provided to Council along with staff input and recommendations in order to support decision-making as part of the annual budget deliberation process.
