In light of recent provincial housing legislation, work that was previously identified as part of the Southwest Housing Review will now be implemented under these broader housing mandates.

The Southwest Housing Review (SWHR) is a multi-phased project to expand the range of housing options throughout Southwest Coquitlam, helping to create more compact, complete communities, and supporting sustainable transportation choices.
In May 2022, Council approved new land use concepts for three neighbourhood pockets located within the Burquitlam-Lougheed neighbourhood. The land use concepts create new opportunities for multi-family housing that is compatible with surrounding land uses, and in line with the broader vision for the Burquitlam-Lougheed Neighbourhood Plan (BLNP) of creating compact, complete and transit-oriented communities. More information on the BLNP Neighbourhood Pockets can be found here.
